Mud Festival: The Festival of Rice Planting
How would you like to play in mud in midst of Monsoon with Nepali farmers?

15th day of Nepali month of Asar (Falls around first week of July) is celebrated as a day of mud festival or nice plantation day (Ropai Jatra in Nepali) in Nepal. Rice is a major staple food of Nepali people, thus planting of the important food is celebrated with lots of enthusiasm and fun. On this day, farmers collect huge volume of water in their paddy field for planning rice and thus the day is celebrated playing with mud among friends and families.
